Meet Your New Jersey Virtual Therapist

Finding the right therapist is about more than choosing someone who offers the service you need. Therapy is personal. You are sharing experiences, emotions, concerns, and parts of your life that may be difficult to discuss. It is important to feel that the person listening to you approaches those conversations with compassion, patience, and respect.

Welcome. I am so glad you are here.

I am the therapist behind Covered in Hope Counseling LLC, a virtual counseling practice serving individuals throughout New Jersey. What began as a simple passion to help others has since evolved into a profound, lifelong calling. To ground that calling in clinical excellence, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University. Today, as a Caribbean-Christian Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I bring a unique blend of cultural insight, faith-based values, and evidence-based clinical expertise to my practice.

I offer counseling for anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma recovery, grief and bereavement, boundary setting and codependency, women’s issues, and other emotional challenges. I also specialize in geriatric therapy and offer Christian based counseling for clients who want their faith incorporated into the therapeutic process.

My mission is to provide you with the tools, support, and grace needed to transform your challenges into stepping stones for growth.

A Personal Approach to Counseling

Every client enters therapy with a different story.

You may have been struggling with anxiety for years, or perhaps a recent event has left you feeling overwhelmed. You may be grieving someone important to you, working through trauma, feeling disconnected from yourself, or questioning patterns within your relationships.

Sometimes there is no single event that leads someone to counseling. You may simply recognize that you are exhausted from carrying everything on your own.

I believe therapy should provide room to explore those experiences without judgment.

My approach is centered on conversation and individualized support. Rather than assuming that everyone needs the same therapeutic experience, I focus on understanding your concerns, your circumstances, and what you hope to gain from counseling.

Together, we can explore the emotions and patterns affecting your life while identifying ways to help you move forward with greater understanding and confidence.

Supporting You Through Life’s Difficult Seasons

Emotional challenges can affect nearly every part of life.

Anxiety may make it difficult to relax or quiet your thoughts. Depression can affect motivation, energy, relationships, and your ability to enjoy everyday experiences. Trauma can continue influencing emotions and behaviors long after a difficult event has passed.

Grief can also change your world in ways other people may not fully understand.

Relationship difficulties, unhealthy patterns, codependency, and challenges with boundaries can leave you feeling responsible for everyone else while your own needs remain unattended.

Whatever has brought you to counseling, you deserve an opportunity to talk about it.

My role is not to judge your experiences or tell you how you should feel. I provide a therapeutic space where you can explore what is happening, develop greater awareness, and work toward healthier ways of responding to the challenges in your life.

My Special Interest in Geriatric Therapy

One of the defining areas of my practice is geriatric therapy.

Older adults can experience emotional challenges that are sometimes overlooked or dismissed as a normal part of aging. Changes involving retirement, independence, health, family roles, social connections, and daily routines can have a meaningful impact on emotional well being.

Grief may also become increasingly present as individuals experience the loss of spouses, friends, family members, familiar routines, or previous roles.

I believe older adults deserve a place where these experiences can be discussed with dignity and understanding.

Through geriatric therapy, I support older adults as they navigate transitions, loss, loneliness, relationship concerns, changing identities, and other emotional challenges. Counseling can provide an opportunity to reflect on experiences while developing ways to cope with present circumstances and maintain meaningful connections.

Virtual therapy can also offer greater convenience for older adults who may find regular travel to a counseling office difficult or undesirable.

Christian Based Counseling When Faith Matters to You

For many people, faith is an important part of how they understand themselves, their relationships, their struggles, and their hopes for the future.

I offer Christian based counseling for clients who want their beliefs to have a place within therapy.

Faith integrated counseling allows spiritual values and perspectives to be included in the therapeutic conversation when they are meaningful to you. This may be especially important when you are working through grief, anxiety, difficult relationships, major transitions, questions about purpose, or other personal concerns.

Christian based counseling is an option, not a requirement.

Clients who prefer general talk therapy are equally welcome at Covered in Hope Counseling LLC. Your counseling experience should reflect your individual values and needs.
